The 3-day UBC Industrial Scaffolding Pilot Class is designed to prepare Journeyman UBC members who specialize in scaffold building to work in Alberta Canada. All members in this class must be Journeyman scaffold builders with a minimum of five years of extensive experience building scaffolds in industrial facilities. The class will be mostly hands-on and focused on using Aluminum Tube & Wedge Clamp scaffolding and All-Around Ring System scaffolding. To participate in this class, members must be willing to work at unlimited height and must weigh less than 290 lbs. (The weight restriction is based on capacity of fall protection equipment.) Bring work clothes, work gloves, and work boots to this class. Hardhats, safety glasses, tools and tool belts will be provided.
Please NOTE: This special class is for Journeymen with extensive industrial scaffolding experience, who are willing to work in Alberta, Canada.
Prior to attending class, Members must:1) Be Journeyman
2) Minimum of 5 years extensive experience building scaffolds in Industrial Facilities
Note: Documentation verifying 5 years industrial scaffold building experience for every student registered in this class must be sent to Dale Shoemaker (e-mail dshoemaker@carpenters.org or fax 702-938-1122). If documentation is not received the student will not be allowed in the class.
Prior to working in Alberta, Canada, Members must:1) Complete the Industrial Scaffolding Qualification Pilot class
2) Have a valid passport
3) Have a Notarized FBI background check (cannot have criminal record including DUI or outstanding child support payments)
